Theodore (Bear) Jon McWhorter, a local cowboy, always said that if he won the lottery he would start a horse rescue. Well, he never won the lottery, but we now feel like we have in some way. We were contacted by Bear’s sister who asked if she and Bear’s friends and family could donate to our rescue in his honor. We could not feel more fortunate and honored ourselves for such a wonderful offer. Therefore, we have created the “Legacy of Bear” whereby friends and family can donate to our organization and we will continue Bear‘s legacy while providing opportunities for our saddle club members to participate in rodeos and events in his honor.
